‘HOME STUDIO’ INAUGURATED

Home Studio of Orchids was inaugurated by Mrs. Kalpana Rao, Director of Word Creek. She has been working with preprimary children for over twenty five years and is associated with ‘E-Blocks’ a program which focuses on teaching English to children between 3 to 13 years of age.  

Home Studio aims at developing Life skills and making children acquire well-mannered behaviour and abilities to manage tying shoe laces, a tie, buttoning a shirt, grooming hair, ironing clothes and setting beds.

It also aims at familiarizing children with table-manners, correcting their sitting postures and body language which add a lot to an impressive personality.

Mrs.Kalpana Rao briefly spoke on ‘Manners’ which form a vital part of education on this occasion. Mrs. Mona Mehdi, Principal of Orchids detailed the aims of Home Studio and its working.

The concept of ‘Home Studio’ has been welcomed by all.

Colouring Competiton (12/4/13)

Colouring is great to develop the fine motor skills of children. Colouring also helps to develop the hand-eye coordination, since it creates a challenge for kids to colour within the lines. This will help them in other works such as grip, self expression, focus and boundaries. Knowing its importance, we at Orchids, organized colouring competition for our preprimary students on 12/04/13. The students were enthusiastic and enjoyed colouring.
