Dear Parent,
I am sure the students have enjoyed with you all during the vacation and are back to school with vigour. As promised we are heading towards an eventful year with a well- planned curriculum, with activity- based teaching methodology incorporated and digitized class- rooms.
To keep you updated about the events and happenings you can visit the class blogs which also cover the syllabus to be taught in a particular month.
Kindly fill the consent slip indicating the activity the child would opt for. Please send it back to us at the earliest.
You are requested to deposit Rs. 275 with your ward’s class teacher for the issue of school diary, Year Planner and ID card. Please read the diary and fill in the details carefully. Kindly sign the diary daily.
An educational tour will be organized in the last week of September for the students of classes IV to X and a separate circular will be sent.
We need your support and cooperation for the smooth functioning of the school. You are requested not to come to pick your ward during school hours unless it’s urgent. If your child is unwell, please let him/her stay at home and take rest.
Your ward should report to school on time. Late arrivals will not be entertained. Students using the school transport should note that bus will not wait for more than 2 minutes at a particular stop. In case your ward misses the bus, the child will have to be dropped at the school.
The school uniform will be available in the school by the end of this month. We regret the delay.
Please pay the school fee of your ward on time in order to avoid inconvenience.
In anticipation for your cooperation and support.
Regards
Mona Mehdi

Tearing & Pasting Competition (20/4/2012)

At Orchids, we conducted tearing and pasting competition for our pre-primary students on 20/04/12. We made the students tear papers. Tearing up paper into tiny bits is fun. This helps them to develop their fine motor skills. Participation, curiosity, dedication and spark in the eyes of each child here, gave a new meaning to the word ‘Competition’. No matter who gets the prize, children were busy till the last minute.

Paper Tearing is a technique that can add texture, dimension to the pages. It requires no tools. It is fast and easy, and gives a unique look to the pages. Paper Tearing can be used almost anywhere, but one of its most common uses is to embellish objects that don't have an even edge. Paper tearing is a good starting point for young children. This activity holds a lot of importance.

Indian National Army Day (18/4/2012)

Indian National Army Day was observed in the school on April 18. Students of class VIII dressed up like Subhash Chandra Bose and loudly proclaimed his words ‘Give me blood, I will give you freedom’.

INA is the manifestation of Subhash Chandra Bose’s transformation from a Gandhian freedom fighter to an armed revolutionary challenging the might of the British Empire. The INA was also known as the Azad Hind Fauj. It had a combat strength of 40,000 troops. At a rally in Burma, S.C.Bose famously proclaimed, ‘Give me blood and I shall give you freedom’. His great oratory skills always inspire the troops of INA during their fight for freedom.
