Raksha Bandhan (1/8/12)

India is known for its rich varied culture and heritage. Festivals which form a part of our culture beautify our lives. They bond us together, rejuvenate us and bring us close to our culture. Every festival comes with its own meaning. These celebrations across the religions teach us to become secular beings and above all global citizens. We learn to respect each other and learn to be humane.
We, at Orchids, celebrate festivals to acquaint our students with their roots. Keeping this in view Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by our pre-primary students on 01/08/12. Girls tied rakhis to boys’ wrists. Rakhis used were hand-made. Music and songs related to the festival were played. The significance of this festival was experienced by every one including our prinicipal Ms. Mona Mehdi.
