Jigsaw Puzzle Competition (4/1/2013)

It is said that jigsaw puzzles have educational value to some extent. Puzzle solving has many benefits like enhancing the cognitive development of the child e.g. making a decision, memory and problem solving. It also teaches the child how to be patient and persistent. Through these exercises, the recognition, retention and restructuring skills of the brain are put to extensive exercise and test. So we at Orchids, also plan activities for the physical, social and mental growth. Owing to the above mentioned importance, we conducted Jig Saw Puzzle competitions for our students on 04/01/13. Jigsaw puzzle is one of the activities that keep the brain active. Jigsaw puzzles are great for reading readiness.  These skills involve spatial recognition, spatial co-ordination, and matching. Puzzles are fun way to improve fine motor skills, hand - eye coordination and social skills. During the competition children enjoyed each and every moment. They had fun and were completely involved in the activity.
